As you may have seen on or read in the news, the Labour party conference has been taking place over the past week in Manchester.
The most high profile events at conference are the speeches in the main hall, with Gordon Brown’s speech on Tuesday at the forefront. If you haven’t seen it you can watch it online or read a transcript here (http://www.labour.org.uk/gordon_brown_conference).
He talked about a new settlement based on fairness. This focused on social mobility, health, education and childcare, together with a transformation of banking and our use of energy, both of which present big issues we need to tackle.
