Nominate the constituency’s best South Asian Restaurant
I have been asked to nominate the best South Asian restaurant in our constituency for the Tiffin Cup – a competition organised by a cross party group of MPs to raise money to support a charity in India and to recognise the wealth of restaurants and different cultures in the UK.

Digital Britain and apComms’ Journal
One of the groups I chair in Parliament is apComms – the All Party Parliamentary Group on Communications. Several people have written to me about the BBC’s refusal to broadcast the Disaster Emergency Committee’s appeal on behalf of a number of UK charities for aid for Gaza. I have signed the Commons EDM expressing my disappointment over this and have sent the following open letter to the Director General of the BBC:

Gaza Crisis
Many people have written to me about the recent events in Gaza and I am sure that the ceasefire on both sides – though coming far later than it should have – will be a relief to everyone. There is an abject humanitarian crisis in Gaza which has suffered monumental loss of life and I fear this will only hinder prospects for a sustainable peace.
