Summer Surgeries

During the summer recess, as in previous years, along with the regular drop-in surgeries I will be holding a number of street surgeries, details of which are below. I’ll be delivering letters in the streets I’m visiting a few days in advance of the surgeries themselves so people know when I’ll be there and anyone who won’t be in on the day of the relevant surgery will have a chance to raise any issues with me then. Details of the areas for the outstanding street surgeries will be confirmed closer to the time.

Launch of the Backing Young Britain Campaign

Today (29th July) saw the launch of the Government’s Backing Young Britain campaign to ensure employers are doing all they can, and taking advantage of Government funding, to support young people to be in work or training. With the recession and increasing numbers in unemployment it is vital that we do all we can to make sure a generation isn’t abandoned and have opportunities to work and train to improve their skills.
